Cartwright Fire

House Fire Saturday October 17, 2009

 

House Fire - On Saturday October 17, 2009 around 13:00 stations 3 16 and 15 were alerted for a house fire. 3-20 (D.Elliott) and Paramedic B-3 arrived on location with smoke showing from all sides, 3-20 established Cartwright Ave. Command. Engine 16 arrived and started the initial attack. Engine 301 arrived and pulled a second line and assisted Engine 16 with suppression. Station 15 units were assigned ventilation on the b c of the house. After a few minutes the fire had been knocked and interior advised that there would be an extensive overhaul. The fire started in the laundry room and spread quick due to the structure type and the materials in the room. Situation was under control after about 1hr and units remained on scene till 17:00. Maryland State Fire Marshals office was notified and are investigating the cause.

While on the house fire we were alerted for a MVC which Paramedic B-3, Rescue Engine 302, Traffic 3, and Squad 15 covered.
