Message From The Chief
I’ve often said that I was born 50 years too late, For me the value of our small town’s history with all its character, details, personalities, and humor is priceless. I enjoy learning about the way things used to be, which gives me a greater appreciation for the way things are now and how that progress was made.
The Fruitland Vol. Fire Co.’s history is a shining example of a rich and colorful past which has lead to the modern, progressive, efficient and highly dedicated group of men and women that make up our fire company today. Our members serve our community and assist the residents on a daily basis in ways that our fore fathers could not have imagined. The modern equipment along would be amazing to them. We’ve come a long way from buckets and hand drawn chemical units, and we continue to make progress everyday to insure the safety and welfare of the public we serve.
I am proud to be the Chief of a great fire company, made up of such a hardworking group of individuals complimented by modern apparatus and equipment.
We are truly “Loyal to Our Duty” and committed to serve, as were our fore fathers 100 years ago when our organization was established.
Proudly Serving,
Robin P. Townsend, Chief
Fruitland Vol. Fire Co.
